My name is Elaine Healy and I live 6 months of the year in the NE section of Portland, Oregon in a wonderful old Craftsman style house that was built in 1915. The other 6 months I live is Sarasota, Florida enjoying the beautiful beaches and sunshine. I truly have the best of both worlds.

In college I discovered the ceramics department and that started my love affair with clay. I was never interested in making pots, but I loved building things with my hands. My work incorporated clay with mixed media. I used clay pieces as well as metal, wax, wood and other items to make art. What I enjoyed was the process of creating something interesting out of different elements that worked together in a new way.

This is how I make my cards. I use different elements and put them together to form something beautiful. It may seem a strange road to travel from making art to making cards, but to me, my cards are really little art pieces, designed with love and made with care.
